As an alternative for posting on Facebook and pissing people off with logic and reason (they don't seem to care anyway), I've decided to follow the advice of my wife and start a blog of my own.
I've named it Left Wing Patriot. I've seen far to many people that think only Trumpians, or conservatives are true Americans. To that I say - BULLSHIT!!!! I have spent my whole adult life, either in the military or supporting it as an engineer for a defense contractor. Don't tell me that I am not a TRUE American. Or that I only vote Democrat because that's they way my parents voted, or that I value party above country. I find those comments very offensive, and quite frankly UN-American. These things have been said to me on Facebook. I have learned that refuting these kinds of statement and presenting facts and logic only entrenches these attitudes even more. I have become very frightened of what the future for my country will be, and for the whole world for that matter. At this point, it looks like "The Terrorists" have won.
This is not the same country as it was before the attacks of 9/11. We have come so far from our president telling us that we had "Nothing to fear, but fear itself", We have one now that tells us to be afraid, be very afraid. But don't worry, if we just follow him and do what he says, we will be safe.
